Application of Industrial Air Springs on Concrete Screening Machines


The application of industrial air springs on concrete screening machines is an efficient and increasingly common solution to address the many challenges of traditional metal or rubber springs in vibration reduction, vibration isolation, equipment protection and screening efficiency.

1. Excellent vibration reduction and vibration isolation performance

Low-frequency and high-efficiency vibration isolation: Air springs have very low natural frequencies (usually designed at 1-3 Hz or even lower), which can effectively isolate the medium and low-frequency vibrations (usually in the range of 5-25 Hz) generated by the operation of concrete screening machines. This significantly reduces the vibration energy transmitted to the foundation and surrounding structures.

High damping ratio: The air itself and internal structures (such as throttle holes) can provide good damping, effectively suppressing the amplitude of the screen machine when it starts and stops passing through the resonance zone and during operation, reducing the "slapping" phenomenon and making the screen machine run more smoothly.

Non-linear characteristics: Its stiffness increases with the increase of load, which helps to maintain relatively stable vibration characteristics when the screen machine load changes (such as feed rate fluctuations).

2. Automatic leveling and height control

Compensation for foundation settlement/deformation: Through a height valve or a simple pressure regulating device, the air spring can automatically or manually adjust the height to compensate for uneven settlement or deformation of the foundation, ensuring that the screen body always remains level, which is crucial for screening efficiency and equipment life.

Adapt to load changes: When the amount of material accumulation on the screen changes, the air spring can automatically adjust the internal air pressure to maintain the height of the screen machine basically unchanged and ensure the stability of the screening angle.

3. Improve screening efficiency and product quality

Stable vibration parameters: Smooth operation and stable amplitude and frequency are the basis for efficient screening. Brief Description of Working Principle


The air spring is installed between the base (or screen box) of the screening machine and the foundation (or support frame).

Compressed air is filled into a closed chamber composed of a rubber airbag and metal parts (upper cover, piston).

The rubber airbag expands and deforms under the action of air pressure, providing support and elasticity.

When the screen vibrates, the air spring absorbs vibration energy through the deformation of the rubber airbag and the compression/expansion of the internal air.

Height valve (optional): connected between adjacent airbags or between the airbag and the fixed point. When the height of the screen changes due to load changes or uneven foundation, the height valve automatically opens/closes, inflates or deflates the airbag, and maintains the set height.
